What are you wearing this weekend?

Distressed White Jeans

It's Wednesday and the work week is half way through.  I'm pretty sure we're all looking forward to this long Memorial Day weekend and can't wait to start the festivities.  Whether you're barbecue hopping, parading, partying at the beach or spending time with family and friends, it's a great opportunity to show off your style outside of your office gear.

Consider a pair of distressed white jeans.  Yes, white.  By the way, did you know that Memorial Day marks the day that we're all permitted to wear white again.  Ha! I've been wearing mine since late winter. Anyway, whether you've admired distressed white jeans in a store front window or own a pair and have no idea where to begin, here are 5 looks that I've put together to inspire you.

Distressed jeans often have a rugged look and feel to them. To make them more feminine, add a loose fitting, flowy crop top (similar), with ankle strapped sandals (similar) and a metallic purse. I typically don't care to match from head to toe but I loved the way the sandals tied in the outfit. You could always do a neutral sandal or if you're feeling bold, orange or pink from the top's designs.  This look is unexpected and can easily be worn to meet your girls on Memorial Day.

It's going to be a beautiful day and a great time to hit the beach.  If you're partying on the beach but aren't fully committed to getting wet, rock the top of your bathing suit with a long, breezy, floral shirt (similar) and a pop-of-color, yellow sandals (similar).  The denim will keep you warm in case it's too cool for your liking but if you plan on catching some sun, I'd advise you to take them off or else you'll end up with striped legs. Trust me, it happened to me last summer and I wasn't even at the beach.

This third look is cute for a parade or family gathering.  This adorable blue and white, vertically striped blouse (similar), has a bow on the back and is very light and airy.  This is another way to add some softness to these edgy pants, not to mention the pale pink sandals (similar). However, if you really wanted to make this a patriotic look, replace the pink with red sandals and accessories.

If you're not in the mood for color, check out this look.  Keep it classic, with black and white but add a splash of leopard print (similar) like I did.  On my feet are my favorite black strappy sandals (similar).  I love the way it adds dimension to this outfit, creating lines and structure in such an easy, comfy outfit. A great way to amp up these distressed white jeans.

You can't get anymore festive than with this sequin striped top (exact). It's a party in itself so I kept the party flowing down to my feet with fuchsia pumps (exact). Don't be so quick to put on blue or green shoes to match. Have fun!
